My Approach
About Kidan
I am an experienced strategist with more than a decade of experience organizing and coordinating projects, campaigns, strategies, and capacity-building activities for policy communications programs. Here are a few ways I help build success:

STRATEGIC ENGAGEMENT: I deliver partnerships and strategic messaging that drives the organization to achieve business goals. Whether it is crafting the perfect pitch to persuade the right partner to join your campaign or conducting business development analysis to identify emerging opportunities, I spearhead results-oriented, creative strategies that produce winning results. For example, I increased partnership engagement for an international organization from one partner to 12 partners in Africa within one year.

COMMUNICATIONS: I create potent messaging, social media, and digital strategy that allow organizations to vibrantly message to relevant stakeholders who they are and what they are about - while winning over new followers, supporters, and donor interest in the process. I have also successfully pitched stories to international media on behalf of NGO's which led to media investing four figures into traveling to Africa to cover a story I pitched on community environmental management.

TRAINING: I have conducted formal trainings for over 400 government employees, NGO staff, and youth advocates in the past 5 years in the following topics: strategy mapping, policy strategy, strategic messaging, data analysis, social media advocacy, health equity, and goal setting for creating winning campaigns and successful programs. Trainings can be done virtual and in-person and include highly interactive learning and team-building activities, along with pre and post training action items to ensure success.

PHILANTHROPIC ADVISING: I am experienced in advising high-net earners on how to ethically and meaningfully donate to projects in Africa in a way that will have the highest impact. As someone who has lived and worked across various countries in the continent, I maintain a network of grassroots and civil society organizations that I have personally worked with, vetted financially, and are doing amazing work facilitating social and environmental change on the continent.

MULTILINGUAL: I am a fluent English and proficient French speaker. I am versed in intermediate data analysis skills on Microsoft Excel, enhancing my ability to expand partnerships applying data-driven strategy. I thrive in fast-paced environments and have successfully led weeks-long partner engagement trips in Africa.

SOCIAL IMPACT: I have worked alongside various frontline communities across Africa and the United States to build positive change in the environment, public health, and governance. The knowledge and experience I gained from the resiliency and resourcefulness of people fuels my lifetime commitment to travel the world in order to find the right partners for social impact causes that foster inclusive and groundbreaking solutions to the world's most pressing problems.
My working style is rooted in authenticity and ambition. I manage relationships with ease and nurture success in organizations. Grounded in a shared identity of solidarity and drive to create a better world, I work closely with partners to tailor strategies, work through challenges, and achieve groundbreaking results.

My role in strategic partnerships is to enhance the capacity of staff and local communities to create positive change. As a trained facilitator, I design interactive trainings, guide conversations, and set an inclusive space for people to feel safe and stimulated to communicate their concerns and their ideas for change. Then as a project manager and advocacy strategist, I apply what stakeholders have told me to create a plan that will result in successful campaigns, projects, and ultimately systemic change.
I approach assignments and collaborations with diverse partners to create policy change. My approach stems from my belief in the sovereignty of communities to make decisions. In understanding that people hold the knowledge and understanding on what needs to change for them to thrive, I act as a clear channel and transform conversations into results-oriented strategy plans for inclusive development and social impact.
